First Visit

When you arrive at Dr. Hilty’s office one of our treatment coordinators will meet you in the waiting room. They will assist you with filling out the introductory paperwork and privacy policy. They will be happy to give you a guided tour of the office. The treatment coordinator will seat you in the exam room and take a digital photo of your teeth.

At the first visit, Dr. Hilty will perform a comprehensive exam and discuss the existing concerns. Dr. Hilty along with the treatment coordinator will explain the appropriate treatment plan. The treatment plan will be designed with your input. It is our desire to provide for your orthodontic needs both thoroughly and efficiently in a manner that will also fit the patient’s lifestyle.

What to Expect at the Consultation

One of the following outcomes will be determined at this first visit:
• Patient is ready for treatment
• No treatment is indicated
• Treatment will be needed but the timing is such that it should be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other factors are reconciled. You will be placed in our Preorthodontic Guidance Program where the doctor can monitor your growth and development until you are ready to begin treatment. Dr. Hilty will always be conservative in his assessment when evaluating a patient for orthodontic issues.

Please allow sixty (60) minutes for your appointment.

If the patient is determined to be a candidate for Invisalign clear aligners for treatment, Dr. Hilty’s staff will capture 3D iTero impressions of the patient’s teeth at this time. Learn more about this quick and easy procedure here.

Our practice offers the most innovative and advanced orthodontic treatments available – including clear ceramic braces and Invisalign aligners, which provide a more discreet look than traditional braces.
